Growing up I always knew I would be a business owner. My entrepreneurial spirit started at a very young age and by 8 I was often found making lemonade stands where I offered a tasty treat for a quarter, This led to a babysitting business complete with flyers in my tween years and a Swarovski crystal embellished flip flop business during my college years. I studied Marketing and Management at Oklahoma State University. After graduation, I married my high school sweet heart, settled down and joined the corporate world, but something was just “missing”.
After I had my daughter in 2008, I started filtering creativity into designing invitations and cards for “just for fun”. I had a family friend who did this for a living and realized that she could help me achieve my dreams of owning my own business. I asked her if she would help get me started so that someday I could work from home. I was blessed that she took me under her wing and taught me about the wedding invitation industry. Announce Your Day Invitations was launched in the spring of 2009. While pregnant with my son, I was able to achieve my dream of leaving a “day” job to stay at home with my kids, create invitations full time and I now have what I believe to be the best of both worlds.
At that time I primarily did wedding invitations but in 2010, Inspired by my children, I focused my Etsy store, Announce Your Day, on creating assembled children’s party invitations and packages. With that success, the next step was to expand and Print the Party was born in March 2012. With two etsy shops, we quickly realized that we needed to merge into one and launch our own ecommerce site where we could offer a full range of products from printable and assembled birthday decor, party decorations, home and nursery decorations and gifts! I am SO excited about this and hope you are too!
I have big plans for my new venture and I am hoping to change the way parents plan their children’s parties.
My sweet children provide daily doses of new ideas and inspire my creativity. My amazing husband has always been my #1 cheerleader and continues to support me and assist me in my business. I am truly blessed to be doing something I love.
I also enjoy supporting other mom’s reach their dreams of starting or expanding their businesses. It brings me great joy to share and support other mom-owned shops!
